My name is Justin Pernas, and I've been a photographer/cinematographer in South Florida for over 5 years now and I have been expanding my horizon ever since.
I originally got into photography taking pictures of birds as a kid, then moved onto pets as I got my own small digital camera. When I got into high school and joined the marching band I upgraded and started taking more pictures and videos of friends till I graduated.
With a car and my second camera (nikon S8100 point and shoot) in hand, I started heading out into the everglades to take pictures of nature and wildlife. That's where my new passion struck me. I was(am) obsessed with the stars and wanted to take capture their beauty and wonder but my camera didn't give me the tools to do so. On October 31st, 2012 I bought my first DSLR and went straight out into the middle of the Everglades at night to capture the night sky and the milky way. It was the first time I really understood what I was looking at and I'll always remember the feeling of discovering the milky way for the first time.
Eventually friends and family started to notice my work and really like it which turned into taking portraits, filming events, and weddings; something I thought I wouldn't enjoy. I don't think I've ever been so happy to be wrong in my life. Without that I would have never made photography and cinematography my career.
One camera changed my perspective on life and led me to a career path I'm passionate about with the potential to do something I love for the rest of my life; Travel the world capturing nature and human emotion wherever I go.
